Whimset began in a small New York apartment.

Like many people living in the city, our founder loved creating a beautiful home—but space was limited, rent was high, and every corner had to work a little harder. Most storage products solved one problem only to create another: they were bulky, purely practical, or simply not something you wanted to see every day.

So, a simple question sparked the beginning of Whimset:

Could everyday home essentials save space, solve real problems, and still feel like part of the décor?

The first ideas were created for that very apartment—thoughtful organizers, foldaway storage and small functional objects designed to make limited space feel calmer, warmer and more intentional. They weren’t made to transform a home overnight. They were designed to improve it one small corner at a time.

Friends began to notice. Then they started asking where they could find these pieces for their own homes. Before long, Whimset designs were being chosen as housewarming gifts—practical enough to be genuinely useful, yet distinctive enough to feel personal.

That was when Whimset became more than a solution for one New York apartment.

Our name combines whim—a spark of imagination—with set, the feeling of putting a space into place. Together, they represent what we believe: creating a home you love doesn’t always require more room, more furniture or a complete renovation.
